Birth Control

Using birth control lets you prevent pregnancy and some of these methods prevent STIs. Finding the suitable one for your body and lifestyle might take a few tries. The most effective birth control will be the one that works best for you!

Tips for Birth Control Maintenance

Each method requires a different schedule and ways to make sure it works the best it can.

Some tips to nail it:

  • Set a daily/weekly (depending on the method) alarm on your phone.
  • Use apps like Clue or Spot On to keep track of your menstrual cycle.
  • Mark on the calendar the days you need to use a new pack of pills, ring, patch or get another shot.
  • Find birth control buddies, and help each other remember.
  • Your partner can help remind you.
  • Keep your replacements in the same place so you don’t lose them and so that seeing them reminds you to use them and/or change them (depending on the method).
  • Store your birth control at room temperature, and away from direct sunlight.
  • Keep your birth control in its package until right before you use it.
